Hey Reader, I don’t like calls. My phone is on Do Not Disturb roughly 97% of the time. (The remaining 3% being the days I’m expecting an online delivery or the 30 minute to 1 hour window from when I order something on Chowdeck to when it gets to me.) You know that meme where they say “Call someone from your contact list, and if they don’t pick, you win $2M”… Well, that’s one way I can make you a millionaire. I’d choose texts (or these days, voice notes) over calls anyday. Which is why you might find it interesting that a short while ago, I actually paid money… out of my pocket… to get on a call with someone. (Okay, let’s be clear: It was a consultation call. But still a call nonetheless). One minute before I logged on with the Google meet link, I remember thinking, “Do I really have to do this?” For something I paid for. Lol. But look: I did it because I knew this person had something I needed. Because I believed they could share information that’ll help me achieve what I’m currently working towards. Fayo of 7 years ago would have found it utterly ridiculous. “What do they want to say that you can’t find on YouTube?" Oh, sweet past Fayo. Bless her frugal little heart. What she didn't know yet is that free has a ceiling. And a lot of people are right under it, wondering, “Why am I not growing?” There’s an obsession with “free”: free masterclasses, free PDFs, free communities, free courses, free "just DM me the word EBOOK and I’ll send you my 500 secret strategies for building a powerful business that makes me $1M every minute." And look, I get it. Free feels safe. Why pay for something when you can just get it for free? (And of course, I won’t deny the fact that there are a lot of charlatans out there ripping people off their hard earned money with “courses” that are not as comprehensive as some YouTube videos.) But free also keeps you... exactly where you are. The biggest investment I made in myself was last year. It cost me a lot of money. You know, the kind of money that makes you sit and stare into space for like 10 minutes after it leaves your account. But I do not regret a single naira of it. It has paid, and still continues to pay for itself. Now Reader, I'm not saying you need to empty your savings on a course or a consultation call with someone you barely know. But I’m saying, if there's something you really want; a skill you’re looking to learn, a thing you're trying to build… At some point you have to stop collecting free resources and actually invest in getting there. And if that “thing” happens to be storytelling, I have a video training called The Genius Storyteller that’ll show you how to become a dangerously addictive storyteller that people can’t get enough of. Because if there’s one skill that’ll pay you back (in business, in content, as a founder, in your career)... it’s knowing how to capture people’s attention with a story. It’s not free. But those who were at the training live will tell you it’s worth it. So if you know this is for you, pick up the call and click here to grab The Genius Storyteller. Aggressively rooting for you, Fayo PS: Here’s what Favour said about The Genius Storyteller: “Investing in this storytelling class was easily one of my best moves this year. It wasn't just about learning the 'how', it was about understanding the depth of what an audience is actually looking for. If you’re a beginner or just looking to sharpen your skills, this course is a non-negotiable. It’s a 10/10 investment.” |
